i have troubles [. . . ] was made in Northern Ireland where Seeds is from. The work forms part of his ongoing search for a lost cultural identity and an attempt to come to terms with his troubled heritage. Having lived in England for many years, Seeds found it hard not to inadvertently reject his own culture and history, as he necessarily rejected the violent history of where he came from. Returning decades later as a displaced outsider, Seeds made the work not as a document, but as an aide in his search for the deep sense of origin that he believes exists in us all.
